Home or property count confirmation

Confirm how many homes or properties are included in the neighborhood.

Why this step exists

Coverage is a neighborhood-wide idea. Knowing how many homes are in scope is what makes it possible to talk about where visibility exists today and where it does not.

The count also defines the boundary being certified, so recognition applies to a real, agreed area rather than a vague one.

Criteria

• An approximate but honest count of the homes or properties included.
• A described boundary: street names, a plat, a phase, or a map showing what is in and out.
• Multi-family or managed communities state the number of units and buildings.
• The count reflects the whole area applying, not only the households already participating.

What to prepare

• A plat map, subdivision map, address list, or a written statement from the board or manager.
• A screenshot of a mapped boundary is acceptable if street names are legible.
• Saved as a PDF, JPG, PNG, or WebP file up to 10 MB.

What an accepted submission looks like

A PDF of the recorded plat for phases one and two, with a short cover note: “184 single-family homes across Oakvale Drive, Mill Court, and Bramble Lane. Phase three is not included.”

Common reasons a submission is returned

• A count is given with no boundary, so the certified area is unclear.
• The map is unreadable at the size uploaded.
• The count covers only the households already using cameras rather than the full neighborhood.

Participation is voluntary. Completing this step does not guarantee certification or any specific security outcome. Homeowners keep control of their own security devices and recordings; the program does not collect or redistribute resident video.
