Certification steps

What certification actually asks of your neighborhood

Certification in the Totality Secure™ Safe Neighborhoods Program™ recognizes a community that has organized itself: coordinated organizers, a known boundary, one channel neighbors read, and written priorities for the coverage its homes already provide. Six steps, each with criteria you can read before you start.

The steps are numbered for convenience, not enforced in order — a community can work on several at once. Certification is voluntary and confers program recognition and signage only.

1. Community organizer roster Name two or more residents who will coordinate for the neighborhood.
2. Home or property count confirmation Confirm how many homes or properties are included in the neighborhood.
3. Communication channel confirmation Choose one shared channel residents actually read.
4. Community meeting agenda or minutes Present the program to residents or the board and record it.
5. Neighborhood priorities summary Write down the top three things your neighborhood wants to address.
6. Point of contact confirmation Confirm one email address for program follow-up.

How the steps and documents fit together

Each step has one matching document. Registered neighborhoods with a resident login upload documents from their own certification page, where each one shows as under review, approved, or returned with a note explaining what to change.

Participation is voluntary. Completing these steps does not guarantee certification, program acceptance, crime reduction, insurance savings, or any specific security outcome. The program does not replace local law enforcement or emergency services — always call 911 in an emergency. Homeowners keep control of their own security devices and recordings; the program does not collect or redistribute resident video.
