Charleston neighborhoods range from historic downtown blocks to planned subdivisions west of the Ashley. The program works the same way in each: a community enrolls together, and a program contact walks the board or resident organizers through what participation involves.

Getting started in Charleston
- If your community has an HOA or property manager, they are the fastest route to a decision — enrollment is neighborhood-wide, not per household.
- Streets without an association can still take part. Two or three residents willing to coordinate is enough to begin.
- Registration is a request for information, not a commitment. Nothing is charged when you register.
What happens after you register
- Submit your neighborhood details through the registration form.
- A program contact follows up by email with what participation involves.
- If your community subscribes, it moves through the program’s Discover to Maintain process and receives its Community Secure Score™ reports.
Participation is voluntary. Registration does not guarantee program acceptance, and the program does not guarantee crime reduction, insurance savings, property value increases, or any specific security outcome. It does not replace local law enforcement or emergency services — always call 911 in an emergency.

No. Participation is neighborhood-wide, so the request comes from an HOA board, a management company, a builder or developer, or a group of residents organizing their street or subdivision.
What happens after a Charleston neighborhood registers?
A program contact follows up by email with the details of participation, including voluntary subscription options for your community. There is no obligation to continue.
